WHEN IN ROME… A QUICK GUIDE TO ITALY’S CAPITAL

¡Buongiorno, Roma! ¿Están listos para empacar sus mejores outfits para esas vacaciones inolvidables en Roma y comenzar el día con un capuchino y pastelitos? Si es así, no pueden dejar de leer esta corta guía si desean visitar Roma por 2 días.

Roma significa comida deliciosa (pasta, por supuesto ), helados , una arquitectura deslumbrante y gente encantadora. Roma alberga una de las atracciones turísticas más populares del mundo, el Coliseo, junto con una docena de otros sitios históricos . Si les gustan las ciudades carismáticas, llenas de arte, con calles vibrantes, este es el lugar ideal.

Hay muchas cosas que ver y hacer en Roma, en esta corta estadía aprovechamos para visitar la Fontana de Trevi , el Coliseo y el Vaticano.
En este post, comparto nuestro itinerario rápido para pasar dos días en la Ciudad Eterna. Esta guía fácilmente puede ser acortada a un solo día, dependiendo de cuanto tiempo estarán en Roma y lo que deseen ver.

DONDE QUEDARSE
Debido a que íbamos a permanecer en Roma por corto tiempo, queríamos hospedarnos en un vecindario animado, que tuviera muchos restaurantes y bares cerca, y que estuviera cerca de los principales lugares turísticos. ¡El Vaticano y el Barrio Patri era lo que estábamos buscando! Yo recomiendo alojarse en esta zona , si desean caminar por todas partes! Roma es una gran ciudad , sin embargo, manejar es algo muy tedioso.

Día 1
Fontana di Trevi
La Fontana di Trevi es muy mágica, usualmente es un lugar muy visitado especialmente si se visita en las horas donde van las excursiones, tours y muchos turistas, a veces es muy difícil tomar buenas fotos. Esa es la razón por que recomendamos despertar temprano y disfrutar de las primeras horas de luz para conseguir las mejores fotos.

Nota: que no se les olvide tirar una moneda sobre el hombro para la buena suerte.

Día 2
Coliseo
Este es uno de los más reconocidos puntos que deben conocer y uno de los más atractivos turísticos visitados en el mundo. Su arquitectura lo hace un lugar muy fotogénico y lleno de historia. No olviden utilizar su bloqueador si visitan el coliseo, el sol es muy fuerte y los tours son un poco largos.

VISITA EL VATICANO
El Vaticano se encuentra a las afueras de Roma. El Vaticano está lleno de tesoros únicos y artefactos de importancia histórica y religiosa inconmensurable. Es un país pequeño con sus propias reglas y costumbres.

Recuerden comprar su ticket con anticipación para evadir las largas filas. Otro punto importante es la vestimenta, las rodillas pechos y hombros deben permanecer cubiertos.

Consejos que deben conocer antes de visitar Roma:

• Aprendan frases básicas en italiano
• Los mejores momentos para visitar: primavera y otoño
• Eviten conducir en la ciudad
• Utilicen zapatos cómodos
• Lleven siempre una botella de agua
• Van a necesitar dinero en efectivo ( Es muy raro encontrar lugares donde no se pueda pagar con tarjeta. Pero igual asegúrense de tener suficientes euros a mano)
• Tengan cuidado con los carteristas

Buongiorno, Roma! Make sure you’re wearing your best Roman Holiday outfit (you know, the maxi dress with perfect boots), and start the day with a cappuccino and a pastry.

Rome means delicious food (pasta of course), gelato, stunning architecture, and lovely people. Rome hosts one of the world’s most popular tourist attractions, the Colosseum, along with a dozen other historical sites. If you love a charismatic city, inspiring art and vibrant street life, this is where you need to go. 

There is so much to see and do in Rome, this time we visit the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, and the Vatican! In this post, I am sharing our quick itinerary for spending two days in the Eternal City. This Rome travel guide can also easily be shortened down to one day, depending on how long you are in Rome and what you want to see.

WHERE TO STAY
Because I was there for such a short time, I wanted to stay in a lively neighborhood, had plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance, and be close to major tourist sights. The Vatican & Patri Neighborhood did just that! I highly recommend staying in this area if you want to be able to walk everywhere! Rome is a big city, however, it’s very walkable, especially when you take a can break at the many delicious cafés.

Day 1

Fontana di Trevi
The Fontana di Trevi is super magical, and you do not want thousands of people blocking your view and getting in your photos! That’s why we recommend to wake up early and enjoy the first hours of lights to get the perfect shot with no people around.

Note: don’t forget to throw a coin over your shoulder for good luck.

Day 2

Colosseum
This is one of the most recognizable landmarks and one of the most visited tourist attractions in the world.

VISIT THE VATICAN
The Vatican sits just outside of Rome, even though it is its own country! Heading there in the early morning would be the best bet to see the Vatican with the least amount of crowds.

• Learn Basic Italian Phrases
• The Best Time To Visit: Spring and Fall
• Avoid Driving in the City
• Wear Comfortable Shoes
• Carry a Water Bottle
• You Will Need Cash (It’s not uncommon for places to only accept cash, so make sure you have enough euros on hand for your day’s planned activities)
• Beware of Pickpockets
