Poggio Covili
En el corazón de la Toscana, en el campo de la Val d’Orcia, en una colina, se encuentra la antigua y popular casa “Poggio Covili”. Su nombre proviene del lugar frecuentado por quienes, a pie o en carruaje, pasaban por la Via Francigena. En la década de los 70 fue comprada por la familia Pasquini y luego restaurada con gran cuidado y atención, a pasar de los años se ha convertido en un hermoso lugar con arboles simétricos, cuidadosamente podados, dandole así una entrada triunfal a la casa.
In the heart of Tuscany, in the Val d’Orcia, on a hill, is the old and popular house “Poggio Covili”. Its name comes from the place frequented by those who, walking or in a carriage, passed by Via Francigena. In the 70s it was bought by the Pasquini family and then restored with great care and attention, over the years it has become a beautiful place with symmetrical trees, carefully pruned, thus giving a triumphal entry to the house.
Podere Belvedere in the Val D’orcia
La niebla de la mañana y el amanecer hacen de esta una de las vistas más hermosas de Europa. Mi recomendación es ir temprano, este lugar se llena rápidamente unos 30 min. Antes de la primera luz. Recuerda llevar tu tripode, un lente gran angular y un lente teleobjetivo.
The morning mist and the sunrise makes this one of the most beautiful vistas in Europe. My recommendation is to go early, this place fills up fast about 30 min. before first light. Remember to take your tripod, a wide-angle lens, and a telephoto lens.
Agriturismo Baccoleno – Asciano
La campiña toscana nunca decepciona. La mejor manera de llegar a este lugar es en auto. No hay estacionamiento oficial, pero se puede estacionar en algunos lugares al lado de la carretera. Una de las mejores tomas en este lugar son sacadas en el atardecer.
The Tuscan countryside is always worth a visit. The best way to reach this place is by car. There is no official parking, but you can park your car in a few places besides the road. The best shots in this place are taken at sunset.
Chiesa Della Madonna di Vitaleta
La capilla de la Madonna di Vitaleta es un edificio sagrado ubicado en el pueblo rural de Vitaleta, en el municipio de San Quirico d’Orcia, en la provincia de Siena.
Bajo la recomendacion de locales decidimos visitar esta hermosa capilla. Tras dejar el auto estacionado, emprendimos el paseo hasta llegar al lugar. Sólo caminar rodeado de trigales nos pareció increíble. Desde luego primavera, la mejor época. Una vez allí, admiramos la capilla, con Pienza de fondo, es una auténtica delicia. Recomiendo sentarse en el banco que hay bajo el ciprés y pasar unos minutos disfrutando, sin pensar en nada…
The chapel of the Madonna di Vitaleta is a sacred building located in the rural village of Vitaleta, in the municipality of San Quirico d’Orcia, in the province of Siena.
Under the recommendation of the locals, we decided to visit this beautiful chapel. After leaving the car parked, we started the walk until we reached the place. Just walking surrounded by wheat fields seemed incredible. Of course spring, the best time. Once there, we admire the chapel, with Pienza in the background, it is an authentic delight. I recommend to sit on the bench under the cypress and spend a few minutes enjoying, without thinking about anything …
Saturnia (Cascate di Mulino)
La primera vez que visité estas cascadas en las afueras de Saturnia, pensé que estaba en un completo y absoluto paraíso. Saturnia es una ciudad balneario en la Toscana que ha sido habitada desde la antigüedad.
El agua está a 37°C constantemente y proviene de una fuente subterránea llena de azufre y otros minerales. Estos minerales que, según muchos creen, han estado curando dolencias menores desde la época de los Romanos.
Tips para visitar las termas de Saturnia en Toscana:
- Estas aguas termales son completamente GRATUITAS y están abiertas las 24 horas del día, los 365 días del año.
- Definitivamente ve al amanecer! En mi opinión, justo antes de los primeros rayos de luz es el mejor momento para ir.
- Les sugiero traer su propia comida y hacer un picnic, sería definitivamente más agradable y satisfactorio.
- Un punto importante es que cuentan con un área de estacionamiento bastante grande que también es gratis
The first time I visited these waterfalls just outside Saturnia I thought I was in complete and utter paradise. Saturnia is a spa town in Tuscany that has been inhabited since ancient times.
Actually, the word warm doesn’t really do this water justice. It’s 37°C constantly and comes from a source underground brimming with sulfur and other minerals. It’s these minerals which I’m told have been curing minor ailments since the time of the Romans.
Tips for the Terme di Saturnia in Tuscany:
- These hot springs are completely FREE and open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Definitely go at sunrise! In my opinion, just before sunrise is the best time to go.
- I would suggest bringing your own food and having a picnic. This will be more enjoyable and satisfying. Most importantly.
- There is a rather big parking area which is free too.
Pisa
Este fue uno de los destinos que no estaba en nuestra agenda, pero decidimos aveturarnos y visitar la famosa torre de pisa. Si visitas no dudes en subir a la torre y disfrutar del maravilloso atardecer. Es increible como luchamos por mantener el balance al subir las escaleras.
¡No hay duda que valió la pena la parada en esta increible torre!
This was one of the destinations that were not on our agenda, but we decided to stay up and visit the famous Pisa tower. If you visit do not hesitate to climb the tower and enjoy the wonderful sunset. It’s amazing how we struggle to maintain balance when climbing stairs.
There is no doubt that it was worth the stop in this amazing tower!
